About the company

According to USA Today, Armenia produces the sixth highest amount of waste in the world. ISSD is the first and only local organisation that combines the provision of sorting bins, waste pickups, environmental training, access to educational materials and digital waste sorting maps - in a single service - to fight against improper waste management, open-air burning and illegal dumping of recyclable waste in Armenia.

The project was launched in 2018 and in one year it served more than 250,000 stakeholders across the country. ISSD is currently developing a mobile pickup app and plans to produce synthetic winteriser from collected plastic waste.
