      Solar Freeze is pioneering cold storage units powered by solar energy for smallholder farmers of perishable produce. Solar Freeze uses the sharing economy model to reduce the high price of cold storage to make it accessible to farmers. Using their mobile phones, farmers request access to cold storage units and pay a fee as low as US$0.2 cents via mobile money transactions. they can then use the equipment to reduce their agricultural post-harvest loss.
